Duitse school pakt rijstexperiment op
De duitse school Franziskus Grund- und Regionale Schule Irrel heeft het rijstexperiment binnen de school geïntroduceerd.
Hierbij het verslag van Petra n.a.v. de ervaringen van de 1e week:
De eerste week van ons rijst-experiment is bijna voorbij. Ik wil je op de hoogte stellen van wat hier allemaal is gebeurd. En er gebeurt hééééél wat.
Ondertussen is het eindresultaat (verschillen, die wat de rijst betreft te zien zijn) veel minder van belang dan begin van de week.
De rijstpotten staan in de eetruimte van onze school in een vitrinekast. Iedereen kan er dus naar kijken en in de pauzes mogen de kinderen van de lagere school tegen de rijst praten. Dat gebeurt in de bijkeuken. De kinderen zijn daar ongestoord.
Wat er nu gebeurt is, dat kinderen, die soms bijna onhandelbaar in de klas zijn, tijdens de les in de eetruimte komen en vragen of ze tegen de rijst mogen schelden.
Dat mag (die kinderen worden anders vaak van hun ouders opgehaald). Resultaat: Alleen de vrouw, die voor het eten zorgt hoort wat er tegen de rijst gezegd wordt.
Er is nu dus één iemand, die hoort waarom het kind zo kwaad of treurig is.
Daar komen gesprekken van, begrip, oplossingen en rust.
Sommige kinderen durven alleen tegen te rijst te zeggen dat papa weg is, dat van het kleine broertje veel meer gehouden wordt, dat de juf oneerlijk is, dat hun beste vriend gemeen was…
Ondertussen komen ook grotere kinderen (wij hebben kinderen hier t/m 16 jaar) met de meest uiteenlopende verhalen. En zelfs leraren zijn al gezien terwijil ze tegen de „boze“ rijst tekeer gingen.
Maar ook de „lieve“ rijst is heel gewild. Het blijkt, dat kinderen, die eerst hun frustratie en kwaadheid op de “boze” rijst losgelaten hebben in de daarop volgende pauze een heel lief gesprek „met“ de “lieve” rijst voeren.
Heel wat kinderen zijn het experiment ook thuis aan het doen.
